Mackay texting scandal 'depressing'

Sport Wales chair Laura McAllister has condemned what she called a "legitimisation of really bad behaviour" in football in the wake of the Malky Mackay text messaging scandal.

The Football Association is investigating the former Cardiff City manager after he admitted sending offensive texts.

Mackay has insisted he is not racist, sexist, homophobic or anti-Semitic.

Prof McAllister told BBC Wales' Sunday Supplement that revelations about the text messages and their description as "banter" by the League Managers' Association were depressing, but not surprising.
