Cerys Matthews 'storms the palace' to collect MBE

Former Catatonia singer Cerys Matthews has received her MBE from the Prince of Wales for services to music.

The 45-year-old BBC Radio 6 Music presenter, whose hits included Road Rage and Mulder And Scully, is an ambassador for the Prince's Trust.

Cardiff-born Matthews' third album, Equally Cursed And Blessed, also included a passionate diatribe against the monarchy called Storm the Palace.

The mother-of-three, who busked and cleaned rubbish from beaches before forming Catatonia in 1993, received her honour from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace on Friday.
