Rivers charity warns farmers over condition of soil
European laws should be enforced on Welsh farmers to make them keep their soil in good condition, a rivers charity has said.
The Wye and Usk Foundation says mud on rural roads can lead to flooding and that this is caused by soil being washed off fields after crops have been harvested.
They are calling on Natural Resources Wales to enforce European laws on farmers who fail to look after their soil.
The soil is also causing the "slow suffocation of small rivers", according to the charity.
