Heavy rain expected on higher ground until Friday

Heavy rain is continuing on Thursday and into the early hours of Friday bringing up to 100mm (4in) of rain on higher ground across Wales, say weather forecasters.

The rain raises the risk of localised flooding on low-lying land.

Natural Resources Wales (NRW) have flood alerts in place, and the Met Office has a yellow "be aware" warning.

The Met Office warning covers Conwy, Gwynedd, Ceredigion, Powys and Carmarthenshire.

BBC Wales weather forecaster Derek Brockway has the latest forecast.
