Alun Michael says police chiefs should make Taser decision

Whether Tasers are used by all front-line police officers should be a decision made by each force, a police and crime commissioner says.

Steve White, head of the Police Federation, said all front-line police in England and Wales should be offered Tasers in light of the increased terrorism threat.

But Alun Michael, commissioner for South Wales Police, says the call must be made by a chief constable who can then be held accountable.
