Homeless charity Shelter criticises change to landlord rules

Homeless charity Shelter Cymru has criticised plans to renovate the rental sector which some have warned could mean less security for private tenants and an increased eviction risk.

Proposals to be announced on Monday could end the six-month notice period landlords must give and change it to a month.

Shelter Cymru director John Puzey told BBC Wales Good Morning Wales: "It will mean we will have the most insecure form of private tenure in the whole of Western Europe in Wales."

More than a million people now live in rented properties in Wales.
