Principality Building Society chief Leonard Boyle in 1973

Wales' biggest building society, the Principality, announces its annual results on Wednesday.

The society was formed in Cardiff way back in 1860.

Leonard Boyle, who was general manager of the Principality for more than two decades, was interviewed in 1973 for BBC Wales about how he saw home ownership developing over the next few years.

He forecast that home ownership could rise as high as 70% - and it nearly did. The figure is now around 64% of the population.
