Newport newsagent speaks out after losing alcohol licence
A Newport newsagent has spoken out after losing his alcohol sales licence over allegations he sold booze to children as you as 11.
A council hearing was told as many as 55 youngsters could have been served by Jayesh Patel at the B&J Newsagents in the city.
Allegations heard by the licensing hearing included claims that he told underage customers to hide the alcohol from CCTV cameras, which he strongly denies.
Newport council revoked the shop's alcohol licence after hearing the case against Mr Patel.
