'No train' training for Nantgarw railway apprentices

Apprentices are getting hands-on experience of railway work without having to see a train.

A special section of track in Nantgarw, Rhondda Cynon Taff, is helping them train as trackside railway workers - and hopefully take advantage of work in the next few years when main lines in south Wales are electricified.

Jonathan Brown is following his father and brother into the job, while trainer Wayne Chawner, of McGinlay Support Services, said reliability and teamwork is all important.
