Drink driver jailed after PCSO Alwyn Pritchard's death

A man who was driving his car at 119mph while over the drink-drive limit when he crashed into and killed an off-duty police community support officer (PCSO) has been jailed.

Alwyn Pritchard, 53, was riding his motorbike when he was struck by an Audi driven by Paul Wilson, who then fled the scene, Cardiff Crown Court heard.

Wilson, 38, of Rassau, Blaenau Gwent, pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and other charges and was jailed for four-and-a-half years and disqualified from driving.

Caroline Evans reports.
