Nepal earthquake: Wife 'grieved' for husband she thought was dead

The wife of a Mount Everest climber from Wales said she believed her husband had been killed following the Nepal earthquake.

Mike Hopkins, 56, from Cardiff, had reached Camp 1 when the 6.7 magnitude quake struck on Saturday, killing more than 2,300 people.

His wife, Mary, said she spent Saturday "grieving all day" until she received the call telling her he is "safe, alive and very well".

Meanwhile. Jason Russell, from Wrexham, and ex-pat Huw Alexander Lashmar were unaccounted for on Sunday evening.
