London Marathon co-founder John Disley honoured at race

The 39,000 runners in Sunday's London Marathon honoured Welsh co-founder John Disley, who died in February, ahead of the race.

In a tribute, broadcast on BBC1, Gabby Logan described him as "a visionary, innovator and true gentleman".

Mr Disley, from Corris, Gwynedd, set up the first London event in 1981 with his friend and fellow steeplechaser Chris Brasher.

He died in February, aged 87.
