Pembrokeshire stable boy reunited with 'warrior' racehorse

He was a "warrior of a racehorse" who jockeys refused to ride.

But Pembrokeshire stable boy Paul Sheldrake won the trust of Ellerslie "Tom" and made him a winner, earning £100,000 in prize money.

But he was heartbroken when Tom was moved to a new stable.

Nine years on the pair have had an emotional reunion.

Tom was advertised for sale as a retired racehorse, but Mr Sheldrake could not afford to buy him.

Knowing of their special bond, his friends raised enough money to buy Tom for Mr Sheldrake as a gift.

"There are some beautiful people in this world," said Mr Sheldrake.
