Cardiff Repair Cafe teaches skills and cuts waste

A free repair cafe has been launched in Cardiff which aims to cut unnecessary waste being sent to landfill and teach people new skills.

Joe O'Mahoney and Cerys Jones set up the monthly event in Cathays after growing frustrated at the number of fixable items being thrown away.

The first event attracted dozens of people and saw 18 volunteers fix 43 items in four hours, with more now planned.
