Armed police on duty at Urdd Eisteddfod in Pencoed

The 2017 Urdd Eisteddfod began on Monday in Bridgend county.

The Welsh-language youth festival runs from 29 May to 3 June at Bridgend College's Pencoed Campus.

The cultural festival, which has been held for nearly 90 years, includes activities, performances and competitions.

Armed police were on duty there on Monday in response to last week's terror attack in Manchester.

As Jennifer Jones reports, event director Aled Sion said people had just accepted the police presence and bag checks.
