Fight to halt rhododendrons under way in Snowdonia

Rhododendrons are taking over areas of woodland, Snowdonia National Park Authority has said.

Attempts are under way to halt the advance of the plant which was bred in Victorian times and widely planted in gardens, estates and country parks.

The authority fears its dense, evergreen foliage and rapid growth will crowd out other species.

Roger Pinney reports.
