Plas Madoc fraudster Miriam Beard tried to deflect blame
A police officer involved in the Plas Madoc Communities First £51,000 fraud investigation says Miriam Beard initially blamed others and tried to "talk her way out of the situation" before eventually admitting her guilt.
BBC Radio Wales reporter Sarah Easedale interviewed Det Con Dave Evans from North Wales Police and visited Wrexham's Plas Madoc estate where she met project workers who trying to rebuild trust with residents.
Beard, 56, of Henllan, Denbighshire, admitted nine fraud charges after changing her plea at her trial at Mold Crown Court in November.
She was jailed for 32 months by a judge at Caernarfon Crown Court.
