US paratroopers lend a hand in Snowdonia rescue

US Air Force paratrooper medics have helped in an operation to rescue a fallen climber in Snowdonia.

The American paramedics were on exercise in the area and joined the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team and a helicopter from RAF Valley.

The climber sustained a suspected broken leg in the fall while ice climbing at Devil's Kitchen above Cwm Idwal. He was later flown to hospital in Bangor.
