Food workers in Newport to strike over living wage
Employees at one of the UK's biggest food manufacturers are taking industrial action over claims they are losing allowances as a new 'living wage' is introduced.
About 160 people at RF Brookes in Rogerstone, Newport, will put an overtime ban in place from Friday and plan to strike next week.
The Bakers Food and Allied Workers Union said workers would lose thousands of pounds in shift allowances.
But the site's owner says the claim about the new minimum wage is misleading.
