Right to Buy: Can't stop rush before abolition, minister says
There is nothing that the Welsh Government would be able to do to stop a potential rush on social housing properties prior to the abolition of Right to Buy, communities secretary Carl Sargeant has said.
Legislation was introduced to the assembly on Monday to abolish the iconic Thatcher-era policy in Wales.
But the new law will allow a 12-month period of grace that will allow tenants that qualify to make applications under the existing scheme.
