Local elections: Labour delivering across Wales, Jones says

Carwyn Jones has denied that Labour's troubles at a UK level will damage its local election chances in Wales.

Launching the party's campaign for the May poll, the first minister promised "a fair deal" for local communities.

He admitted Labour had set the bar "exceptionally high" in the 2012 elections when it gained 231 seats.

But Mr Jones claimed that Labour councils were "delivering across Wales", and would overcome any unhappiness with Jeremy Corbyn's leadership of the party.
