Merkel's CDU may have to form coalition with Green party

Voters go to the polls in the south western German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg this Sunday. It has been governed by the Christian Democrats (CDU), the party of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, for 60 years but that may be about to change.

Disenchantment with the CDU, combined with the rise of the Green party, means that the Greens might get enough votes to form a coalition.

As Stephen Evans reports from the CDU heartland, the nuclear crisis in Japan has transformed the election.
