Hundreds injured after two subway trains collide in Shanghai

More than 200 people have been injured after two subway trains collided in central Shanghai, according to Chinese state media.

Most of the injuries were slight, Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Company said after the incident.

The collision was reportedly caused by a power cut which led signalling equipment to fail.

At the time of the crash, staff were directing trains manually.

The BBC's Martin Patience reports.
