DPP Keir Starmer on challenge of policing social media
There has been such an increase in people being arrested for things they have written on social media outlets such as Twitter and Facebook that the most senior prosecutor in England and Wales, Keir Starmer, is issuing new guidelines.
Newsnight's Eddie Mair spoke to him about how social media could be policed, where the line between offensive comments and off colour jokes should be drawn, and what the effect on free speech will be.
BBC's Newsnight is broadcast Monday to Fridays at 2230 BST on BBC Two. Or watch afterwards on BBC iPlayer or the Newsnight website.
