US Secretary of State John Kerry calls for N Korea denuclearisation

The US Secretary of State, John Kerry, has reaffirmed Washington's commitment to the defence of Japan, and said the countries would work to guarantee a peaceful resolution to the current confrontation with North Korea.

In a news briefing with Japan's Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida he said: "We are committed to make that goal of denuclearisation a reality".
