What role do British young men have in al-Shabab?

Al-Shabab, the group which carried out the attack on the Westgate shopping centre in Nairobi, have said their campaign of violence will continue.

There is still speculation as whether any foreign jihadists were involved in the atrocity.

It is well known that some young men from the UK and America have gone to Somalia to fight with al-Shabab but what role do they play within the group - and how influential are they?

The Today programme's Zubeida Malik reports on the involvement of foreign jihadists.
