Nelson Mandela obituary: From prisoner to president

South Africans are mourning their former leader, Nelson Mandela, who died on Thursday aged 95.

Mr Mandela spent 27 years in jail during his battle against apartheid, before becoming South Africa's first black president in 1994.

In the second part of an obituary for BBC Newsnight, Robin Denselow recalls Nelson Mandela's path from prison to presidency.
