Conscientious objector's D-Day role

As hundreds gather to pay tribute on D-Day, pacifist David Briggs remembers refusing to fight, describing the enemy as "not Hitler, but war itself".

However, not wanting to be seen as a coward, he joined the Royal Army Medical Corps and served on D-Day.
