Refugee crisis: Malta sinking was 'mass murder' - PM Muscat

Earlier this month, at least 300 migrants drowned off Malta's coast when traffickers rammed their boat, then hacked at the hands of people hanging onto the wreckage.

Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat tells the BBC's Peter Hunt the sinking was "mass murder".

"The smugglers with machetes or knives chopping off people's hands - that's something you wouldn't even imagine in a movie, let alone in real life. But it is happening, each and every week over here."
