The day India’s prime minister was murdered

Thirty years ago, India's Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was murdered in her garden by her own bodyguards.

RK Dhawan was one of Mrs Gandhi's closest aides.

He spoke to Witness about what he saw happen that morning.
