Liu Xiaobo friend: 'He deserved to die as a free man'

China's best-known dissident, the Nobel Peace Laureate Liu Xiaobo, has died at the age of 61. He had recently been moved from prison to hospital for cancer treatment.

Yang Jianli, a friend and fellow dissident, says the Chinese government should have allowed him to be treated overseas.
