Tensions continue to rise in Ivory Coast
Tensions in Ivory Coast continued to rise as the country's president, Laurent Gbagbo, failed to be persuaded by neighbouring African leaders to hand over power to Alassane Ouattara.
Mr Outtara has been internationally recognised as the winner of November's presidential election and on Wednesday, the United Nations formally accepted his choice of the country's ambassador to the UN.
