Pressure on Col Muammar Gaddafi intensifies

The home town of Muammar Gaddafi - Sirte - has reportedly fallen under rebel control after it was targeted by international air forces earlier.

Libyan rebels are advancing along the west coast towards the heartland of pro-Gaddafi supporters. Helped by international air strikes, anti-government forces took control of the oil ports of Brega and Ras Lanuf.

Nato has confirmed that it will take charge of the whole military operation.

The BBC's Jack Izzard reports.
