North Nigeria reeling after riots

Thousands of Nigerians in the north of the country have been left homeless or displaced after violence sparked by the election of President Goodluck Jonathan, a southerner.

In Kaduna much of the town of Zonkwa has been burned to the ground, while in the state of Kano a military barracks has become a campsite for those forced from their homes by the riots.
