Senior al-Qaeda militant shot dead
The man believed to be the leader of al-Qaeda in East Africa has been shot dead in Somalia.
Fazul Abdullah Mohammed had been indicted for his involvement in the bombing of American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998. More than 200 people were killed in the attacks which were carried out by suicide bombers in trucks.
The US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, said his death would be a significant blow to al-Qaeda. Will Ross reports.
