Egyptian troops shoot to disperse Cairo demonstrators

Egyptian troops have fired shots into the air to disperse hundreds of demonstrators in Cairo trying to reach the defence ministry, where the ruling military council is based.

There were clashes between protesters angry at the pace of political reforms and their opponents who pelted them with stones and bottles.
