Kenya government 'ignored drought warnings'

The prolonged drought in East Africa has hit large swathes of northern Kenya extremely hard.

Now at least 10 per cent of the entire population needs food aid.

Anti-corruption campaigner John Githongo told the BBC's East Africa Correspondent Will Ross that he believes the crisis could have been avoided if the country's government had heeded the warnings.
