Singer Fela Kuti remembered on stage

The late Nigerian signer Fela Kuti was one of Africa's most colourful and influential musicians. He pioneered the infectious Afrobeat sound in the 1970s.

He was also a political icon in Nigeria, where he fought against government corruption.

For the last three years, his life has been depicted in a hugely popular show on Broadway, in London and in Lagos.

Fela's son, Femi Kuti, who is a musician himself, has been in the UK for the latest run of the musical at the Sadler's Wells theatre.
