William Hague hails a 'historic day for Libyans'

Libyan rebels have taken over Col Muammar Gaddafi's compound in Tripoli, one of the main areas under the Libyan leader's control.

British foreign secretary William Hague spoke to the BBC in light of the rebel advances on the Gaddafi compound in Tripoli.

Mr Hague hailed the move as a Libyan achievement but underlined the dangers still facing the people in the country.
