Libya uprising: Cash needed for rebuilding effort

After the fighting stops, Libya must begin the costly process of rebuilding itself, with hard cash vital to help prevent any post-conflict collapse.

Rebel leaders are looking for around $2.5bn (£1.5bn) in the form of grants and loans to help get them started, and they are also hoping the international community will unfreeze some of the assets Col Gaddafi stored overseas.
