Zanzibar opens centre to identify ferry victims

Authorities in the Tanzanian region of Zanzibar opened a new centre in Stone Town over the weekend to help give families of the nearly 200 dead in the recent ferry disaster an opportunity to identify their relatives.

The boat was carrying at least 800 people when it sank between Zanzibar's main island, Unguja, and the island of Pemba during an overnight sailing.

Hassan Mhelela reports from Zanzibar.
