Libya: Battle for Sirte near 'stalemate'

Fierce clashes are taking place in the Libyan city of Sirte between troops loyal to Col Gaddafi and National Transitional Council troops.

As Alastair Leithead explains, the situation is nearing a "stalemate" as "it's very hard for them to move forward because of the urban warfare that they're locked into".
