Tripoli celebrates reports Gaddafi is dead

The transitional authorities in Libya have said they have captured Colonel Muammer Gaddafi.

A fighter loyal to Libya's interim authorities told the BBC he found Colonel Gaddafi hiding in a hole in Sirte.

Some unconfirmed reports say Colonel Gaddafi has been wounded, others that he has been killed.

The BBC's Caroline Hawley, who is in Tripoli, said there had been scenes of jubilation around the country.
