Private schools on the rise in South Africa

In South Africa 5,000 children - most of them black - are switching to private schools each year, highlighting the decline of the state system.

Ministers admit that 80% of state schools are failing, with appalling infrastructure, lack of teachers and poor exam results.

Getahead High School is one of many low cost private schools, and its principal, Peter Bosman, explains what sort of backgrounds his pupils come from.
