SA police brutality condemned

Eight police officers in South Africa are facing murder charges after a taxi driver from Mozambique was tied to the back of a police van and dragged through the streets.

The incident was recorded on a mobile phone and shown on national television. Mido Macia, who was 27, died later in a holding cell.

South Africa's shadow police minister, Dianne Kohler Barnard, told BBC News that the claims of police violence were growing.
