South Africa bus crash kills 29 people

Twenty nine people have been killed after a bus collided with a truck in South Africa's Mpumalanga province north-east of the capital, Pretoria.

Scores of passengers were also taken to a nearby hospital after the collision on Monday night, officials said.

South Africa's deputy transport minister Lydia Sindisiwe Chikunga said: "As a country we are mourning the loss of life of 29 people."

She said the department of transport would investigate whether the road layout was partially to blame.
