'Sudanese police beat me for filming protest'
In late September 2013, the Sudanese government removed fuel subsidies in the country, sending prices soaring.
Thousands took to the streets to protest. At least 87 people were killed as the demonstrations were broken up, though activists say the real number was more than 200.
Samar Mirghani tried to film the protests on her mobile phone - and was arrested. She was later found guilty of taking part in the demonstrations.
She gave her account of the events to the BBC.
