Mandela interpreter says he has schizophrenia
The man accused of being a fake sign language interpreter at Nelson Mandela's memorial service says he suffered a schizophrenic episode during the service and was hearing voices in his head.
Thamsanqa Jantjie, 34, who stood shoulder to shoulder with world leaders, including the American president has admitted he sometimes reacts violently during schizophrenic attacks.
South Africa's deputy disability minister says the government is investigating the incident.
