Sudanese painter on art on envelopes

Sudanese artist Hassan Musa tells BBC Focus on Africa why he paints on envelopes he sends through the post.

Hassan Musa is a Sudanese artist currently exhibiting at The Gallery of African Art in London.

Besides his work on fabric and ink on paper depictions of 20th Century icons in Arabic calligraphy, part of the exhibition features hand-decorated envelopes that he sent to his curator, some of them beautiful, some of them funny, but all of them eye-catching.

The BBC's Jenny Horrocks went along to the gallery and asked him when he first started using calligraphy.
