Uganda president signs anti-gay law

Uganda's President Museveni signs a controversial anti-gay bill, abandoning a pledge to delay the legislation pending scientific advice.

Uganda's president has signed into law a bill toughening penalties for gay people and criminalising those who do not report them.

Catherine Byaruhanga reports from Kampala, where there were cheers as the president put pen to paper on a bill which activists say they will challenge.
